What is FLD?

FLD stands for Forming Limit Diagram, and it is a criterion, which is commonly used to evaluate the sheet metal formability.

Because in sheet metal forming, the strain path can be arbitrary ranging from uniaxial tension to equi-biaxial stretching, it is impossible to specify ONE failure strain for the initialization of localized necking.
