I found that the number of adapted elements was too large when I performed a multi-stage forming analysis using adaptivity. Is there a way to avoid this problem?

You need to specify a minimum element size to prevent too fine a mesh from being generated when using adaptive meshing. This parameter is ADPSIZE on the card *CONTROL_ADAPTIVE.

The adaptive levels specified in the input deck is only good for the current simulation, and the previous refined mesh can still be adapted to this level in this present step if the minimum value of element size is not specified.
