What is the material formability?

The material formability is an evaluation of how much deformation a material can undergo before failure. Two factors need to be considered for material formability.

1) The FLD of this material, the higher the curve, the better the formability.

2) The strain path. Since plane strain deformation will provide the lowest formability, if the material has more power in resist the deformation in thickness and avoid plane strain deformation, this material will have a higher formability.
